So who won? Katrina, Bebo, Priyanka, Rani or Aishwarya

Bollywood is a place where the heroes are given more importance and the they always see to it that the female co star gets less role, less coverage and less publicity. But times are changing now 2008 has been a year where our heroines have done full fledged meaty roles and on the basis of their hits and misses we analyise the top 5 bollywood actresses of 2008.

Katrina Kaif - Her first release of the year was Race-an Abbas Mastaan thriller with lots of enjoyable twists and turns. Katrina is paired with Akshaye khanna, while Saif and Bipasha are aso there in the cast.Katrina plays the soft decent cute secretary of Saif who adores Saif and is with him through thick and thin and how in the climax turns out to be the bad mans fiancee and how she backstabs Saif.

This film did really well in the boxoffice and was said to be a hit. her next film was Singh is King which was a super hit in the box office and Katrina is paired with Akshay kumar and inspite of the story revolving around a punjabi villager who comes to town and all the misadventours that happen and he ends up to become the Australian underworld king, Katrina's role is worth a watch. Aishwarya bats for Bhansali

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who has given the nod to be a part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next film, is backing the ace director despite his last movie Saawariya being a box office disaster.

The film was also not spared by critics as they panned it heavily and audiences shied away from watching it at the theatres. Ash feels that one failure does not mean that Bhansali should be written off from the Bollywood map as he is one of the best talents the country has ever produced.

“Sanjay Leela Bhansali has gifted me two of my most memorable films,” Ash says while referring to Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas.

“He is a master filmmaker and I don’t think one failure is a very big deal. Everyone has highs and lows in their career and you can’t write anyone off just because he has failed once. Look at the films he has made, you can’t write him off or take away the enormous wealth of talent he has in him. That’s unfair. He is one of the best filmmakers India has ever produced and he will continue to make great films.”However, Ash chooses to remain mum about the project.

She says, “It’s a Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie. So, you can expect the magnitude and opulence that every Bhansali movie has. It will be huge in every way. The script is extraordinary. It is going to be a brilliant film from his side again.”The shooting of the film begins in July next year. Read More......

Aishwarya Rai - Rani fight heats up!

There’s probably nothing Aishwarya Rai Bachchan hasn’t achieved yet. A blazing career on the ramp, a Miss World title, rocking innings in Bollywood and marriage to Abhishek Bachchan. But, the actress can’t seem to get over a loss to one-time pal Rani Mukherjee. Ever since Ash was replaced by Rani in Chalte Chalte, their relations seemed to have soured for good. Rani, who is a good friend of the Bachchans, wasn’t even invited to Abhi Ash’s nuptials. Now, Aishwarya has reportedly forbidden hubby Abhishek from working with her. Does this mean AB’s baby will have to reject all Yash Raj projects from this point on?

Sushmita Sen hosted a big bash on her 33rd birthday. Most of the industry’s hot-steppers arrived to wish Sush the best. But her supposed live-in partner Mudassar Aziz was missing. Sushmita is apparently trying to convey to the media that she’s very much single. Wonder why a former Miss Universe with a reasonably successful Bollywood career is still unattached? Find out.

Aamir Khan’s Ghajini look is a hit! Movie buffs and competitors can hardly stop admiring the perfectly carved torso he’s achieved in such little time. But the six-pack abs and uber cool hairdo will be gone before you know it. Aamir’s reportedly plays an IIT student in 3 Idiots. And director Rajkumar Hirani has asked him to sport a leaner look and different hairstyle. Now perfectionist Aamir is used to such drastic changes, but we haven’t had enough of the Ghajini avatar yet, have we?

Salman Khan is rapidly losing out on friends in the industry. The star was recently on a reality show with judge Himesh Reshammiya. When Himesh asked Sallu to do a cameo in his film Kajrare, the actor readily agreed. But he later backed out leaving a very-much-in-need-of-a-hit Himesh high and dry.

Karan Johar held a special screening of Dostana for Mumbai’s gay community recently. The audience expectedly came out smiling and seemed to have enjoyed the flick. What they enjoyed most though was John Abraham. “I can look at him over and over again,” one of them said. Read More......

Mumbai, Sept 15: Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai has hiked her price to a throbbing six crores per movie. The ace actress has pocketed home a bomb of money for her Tamil movie ‘Enthiram’ opposite Tamil superstar Rajinikanth.

According to reports, the Bachchan bahurani was granted such a huge amount by the producers, after she agreed to work in the flick in spite of being heavily tied up in lieu of the fact that as she had in the past (due to indispensable reasons) turned down two projects with Rajini and was very guilty of it. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and hubby dearest Abhishek Bachchan with their perfect Bachchan mannerisms, have often been touted as the golden couple, but when it comes to business the filmmakers simply choose to ignore this picture perfect couple. And they march ahead to cast the sultry beauty Ash opposite her reel prince charming Hrithik Roshan.

After delivering a smash-hit flick like ‘Jodhaa Akbar’, the gorgeous twosome have once again caught the fancy of yet another acclaimed director - Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The filmmaker, who faced much flak for his failed close-to-heart project ‘Saawariya’ is all set to make a spectacular return with the ‘it’ couple of filmdom. But unlike popular belief that the director has bought the two together for his magnum opus project ‘Heera Mandi’, we have learnt that Sanjay has drawn an all-new script for the couple.
