Rahman. They were given the red carpet treatment at the British Film Institute Southbank complex next to the River Thames in central London. The film, which stars Abhishek Bachchan and his wife, an actress and former Miss World, will be released in cinemas worldwide on Friday. "India is the largest film industry in the world. We sell twice the amount of tickets that Hollywood does," Abhishek Bachchan told Sky News television. "They are at a threshold where people have suddenly developed this love for Indian cinema. "But I don't think it's going to be this huge rage in the English-speaking world. There is always a language barrier and that is something that has to be respected."The film is a loose adaptation of the Indian epic Ramayana, in which the wife of Lord Rama, Sita, is abducted by a demon. The movie is packed with action scenes, many of which take place in dense jungle.

Asked how she handled being thrown into water repeatedly while filming stunts for the movie, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan told the BBC: "It must have made acting easy, don't you think? Just throw her in there and suffer, and let's just film that." Her husband added: "She came out looking as good and we were like 'Come on that's so unfair'."

Two versions of the film were made simultaneously -- one in the Hindi language and one in Tamil -- and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan said this made it "even more challenging." But she said the experience was enjoyable and "very, very close to my heart."

Rajeev Masand: ...don’t just want to capitalise (on your relationship?) Aishwarya Rai: Which is wonderful, especially at the time when we were just getting married also, people weren't going the conventional route with us. It's wonderful because even we as actors, over the years, have been gravitating towards experiences as characters in a lot of movies. I really appreciate and admire that about Abhishek, that he has the guts to take the risks that he does, irrespective of how or what kind of a course it may chart in a hero's life. He takes risks.

Rajeev Masand: You are shooting in Hyderabad for Shankar's film Robot opposite Rajinikanth. When I spoke with you before you started shooting, you were very excited about working with him. So what is it like really now that you've shot a fair bit?

Aishwarya Rai: Firstly because we've all grown up watching Rajinikanth films and all those moves - it's been exciting, everyone around me was excited about me working with him. "If you remember my uncle Guru Dutt (her artist mother Lalita Lajmi's brother) was settled in Bangalore and so is Deepika's father Prakash Padukone. Deepika is definitely related to me, though she doesn't know it. But I hope she knows about me," Lajmi said.

Lajmi has been seeing a series of illnesses in her family, first her parents and then her guru and companion, composer Bhupen Hazarika.Lajmi, who started as an assistant to Shyam Benegal, says she's very proud of her mentor.

Aishwarya Rai is currently wrapping her Robot film shoot in hurry to arrive back in India, just to be with her hubby, Abhishek Bachchan on October 1st for his film, Drona's premiere in Mumbai.

Confirming us the news, Aish's secretary Hari Singh said, "Aishwarya was in Peru till last week for a song shoot of Shankar's Endhiran (formerly called Robot) starring South super star Rajnikant.Now presently she is shooting for the film in the rain forests of Brazil. She wants to be with Abhishek's side on his big day on October 1st. She is as excited as him to check him out in his first super hero avatar."

One can remember, Abhishek making a late entry for Aishwarya's Jodhaa Akbar premiere held on February 14th at the Imax Multiplex in Wadala, Mumbai.Abhishek was shooting in Jaipur that time for Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Dilli 6. He was to reach on time but a flight delay made him arrive at the venue at around 11:30 pm just when the film was about to finish.

But Aish won't be late and will attend the premiere along with Abhi. As Hari Singh has added, "Aishwarya will be reaching Mumbai a night before the premiere."A source further added, "Before the grand premiere, a special show will be kept just for the Bachchans. Amitabh and Jaya early next week at a Mumbai preview theatre by director Goldie Behl.

Bollywood mega superstar Amitabh Bachchan , son Abhishek Bachchan and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan ended their tour of five cities of the United States with an energetic mega performance in New York on Friday.

Bachchan family was also accompanied by Preity Zinta , Madhuri Dixit , Ritesh Deshmukh , choreographer Shiamak Davar and other 130 performers on their 'Unforgettable Tour' which began from Toronto on July 19.Talking to reporters, the star family said, though the tour was hectic, it gave them an opportunity to spend quality time together, something which is hard to find when they are busy shooting for movies.

It was a massive venture, they agreed, saying that each show cost around one million dollar to organise but it ran to full houses.They shared their happiness of staying together and spending time under one roof during the tour. "It is an experience to spend time together without hectic filming schedules," as Abhishek put it.

Amitabh Bachchan got a standing ovation by a 20,000 strong audience in London [Images] on August 24, as he recited -- in his inimitable baritone dialogues -- dialogues from his all-time hits like Deewar and Agneepath, as part of the Unforgettable world tour.

Bachchan became emotional while delivering dialogues from Deewar. Recalling the scene when he goes to a temple for the first time asking God to save his mother's life, Amitabh [Images] said at the tour, "Whenever I do the scene, I get emotional about my mother, whom I lost last year."

Bachchan also read out some of the poems from Agneepath, penned by his late father Harivansh Rai Bachchan.

Sallubhai has grown allergic to the famous name of Aishwarya Rai and wants his team at ‘Dus Ka Dum’ to use different spelling of her surname like ‘raye’, ‘rye’ or even ‘raai’.

The problem arises from the fact that Salman Khan has to ask for the advice or ‘rai’ of almost every contestant on the show during presentation. For instance, Sallu would say ‘Aapki rai mein kitne pratishat bhartiya sochte hain ki….? Here ‘rai’ word comes, though it means ‘opinion’ at this particular place, but Sallubhai would have none of it and wants its spelling changed for him.

And who can disobey the macho Khan, so the teleprompter on the show now reads the spelling of ‘rai’ as ‘raye.’ But after the infamous spat between Shah Rukh and Salman took place at Katrina’s birthday party, now Sallu has ordered the removal of the word altogether from the show and it has been complied with by the channel.

Sources say that this is so because the main cause of the spat between Shah Rukh and Salman was the joke cracked on Aishwarya by King Khan at the party.
